In Suva a full day workshop was run at the School of Medicine, Physiotherapy within the University of the South Pacific, Pacifika campus. Email correspondence with Maria Waloki, head of Physiotherapy School assisted with organisation of this day. 27 local physiotherapy students and Suva Hospital Physiotherapists attended the session titled: Fijian Hand Trauma.
The day included a review of interesting hand patients seen in Lautoka on previous 6 visits by EM and SM, and in the afternoon a practical session making plasters and thermoplastic splints. The idea being to teach using loca cases we had seen and assisted in the treatment of with local resources
Surgical Synergies kindly donated all thermoplastic used.
